Orange Day November 25 in Emancipation Park, commuters were asked the question, what does HIV prevention means to you?
A bit puzzled by the question team members at JCW+ gave their example of what HIV prevention means to them, which in a nutshell was basically Target 90-90-90 which is an ambitious target to end the AIDS epidemic by 2030. This target states that 90% HIV positive persons would know their status, 90% of those knowing their status receiving treatment and 90 % of those on treatment seeing viral load suppression.
This would then reduce the likelihood of transmission and thus prevent HIV prevalence from once again spiking.
With that expression shared, those we sought to engage stated that sensitization and consistent correct condom use will enable informed decisions, reduce stigma and discrimination and encourage safer sex and improve healthy life.
Lets all put our hands up for #HIVprevention.
