Pastor Clarke and that 15 year old girl. Wow! Now this one is heavy and causing an awful lot of emotional stir in Jamaica land we love.
Question though, is this a case of alleged sexual abuse or is it proven?
See I have so many issues with this case right here, I honestly don’t even know where to begin. And while I am anti-violence against women, I am going to be realistic and neutral in this case as much as possible because either way a woman or multiple women are hurting.
Keeping abreast of this case as it unfolds is no hard task, it is being talked about, sussed about or discussed somewhere right next to you. Some aspects of media publication keeps saying that this act is alleged and investigations are ongoing but help me to understand this, how do you charge a man for a suspected crime? I mean surely if he is guilty, he is a pervert who needs to be restored. I hate the act or mere thought of condemnation; yes he is an elderly religious leader whom is married with a nice family, white picket fence and all those nice corny stuff we hoped for as a kid, but firstly he is human, and as humans we are prone to mistakes and being led astray. Admit it!
Think about a time in your life when you messed up so badly, you didn’t want anyone to find out because you were afraid of what they would think or what they would say. How did you feel when they found out and what is it that you would have wanted them to do for you to make you feel better? The same principle applies to these victims. And yes they are both victims. Ephensian 6:12 states “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” And yes preach failed to keep the armor of God up and he failed this testing. He was a victim of temptation caused by darkness which has also victimized the spirit of a child – or allegedly multiple.
What about the mother of these children? What role does she play or did not play in all of this. See as a mother, I have instincts, heck, women generally having kicking instincts! Now this has people questioning themselves, how could she not have realized that something was off with her child, especially in the instance where news is circulating that all her female children had been victimized by the same man? Or was it that she was the one sending her children to this man for financial gains?
I keep hearing the voice of Olive Edwards, “advocacy is evidence based and unless you have all the facts, don’t go selling your ‘story'”. Now I have no side to the story but that which the media states and knowing the media dramatization is an anagram for them minus and plus some letters. Their credibility and influence for negativity is swaying. Why is it that we are causing our anger and hurt to blind us from the blatant reality? Or is it that the reality has changed because this is a ‘man of the most high God’?
I see some people saying they sympathize with the victim and her family, yaw yaw yaw, see I don’t feel sorry for this family, I understand and I empathize deeply with them, as a mother of four girls and as a woman myself whom has experienced sexual abuse and what it can do to you. Not just the physical effects but the spiritual and mental hazard that people cannot see. But also I want to empathize with the first lady, her family and Mr. Clarke’s family as well as their close friends. They are hurting just as much as anyone else is and should not have to suffer because of the deed of the doer nor the doer himself. Then to add to all of this confusion, the personal act of the principal to support her friend by bailing her husband has caused her suspension…. C’mon man, that is pure nonsense!!
There is so much raw and untamed emotions inside of me which I cannot materialize into words but let me say this to you….
Matthew 7:4-6 How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ while there is still a beam in your own eye? You hypocrite! First take the beam out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye. Do not give dogs what is holy; do not throw your pearls before swine. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and then turn and tear you to pieces.…
St. John 8:7 “He that is without sin among you, let him cast the first stone….”
Next time you think about throwing either of these victims under the bus, think about those scriptures because I am SURE you have NOTHING on Jesus!!
And am just saying!
